Les Liaisons Dangereuses is a play that really takes aim at the disgusting nature of the 18th century French upper class as they abuse and manipulate people with a casual air to them throughout the whole piece. On first glance the set may appear to just be a simple stylized period design, but upon further inspection one will notice that all of the portraits have been modified and edited to depict graphic sexual or violent scenes, thus capturing the way in which the sick and twisted actions of the play are just categorized as casual and normal behavior for the characters.
